Clinical Immunizations Policy
The Baldy View Regional Occupational Program has a requirement that each student will attend four 6 hour
clinical shifts for the Emergency Medical Technician course. The following immunizations are required by the administration
departments at our clinical sites prior to the assignment of the clinical shifts:
- Tuberculosis / TB test (proof of negative PPD skin test or chest X-ray) - within 3 months
of the start date of class
- Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) - proof of immunization or titer
test
- Hepatitis B - proof of completing the 3 shot series or a titer test (the student must have
started the series and had at least 1 of the shots prior to the start date of the class)
- Chicken Pox (if you have had chicken pox, you may sign a waiver stating when you had it
- month/year) or receive the vaccination
- Tetanus / Diphtheria - not to exceed 10 years from the course completion date
I encourage each student to obtain copies of all your immunizations as soon as possible. Do NOT wait
until the last minute. If you are unable to provide proof of these required immunizations, you will not be able to be
placed into your clinical rotations. The completion of all clinical shifts is a requirement to complete the EMT course.
All immunizations must be on medical letterhead from a licensed medical facility.
As a program prerequisite, proof of the mentioned above immunizations must be submitted to the EMT Program
Director on the first day of class. Failure to provide proof of these immunizations, can result in being dropped from
the EMT program.
