for the EMT program. Students will be required to come in person to Baldy View ROP's training center in Ontario,
CA to register and enroll in the program.
Immediately following the selection of the students for the upcoming
semester of the EMT program, a mandatory student orientation will be held for all the enrolled students to go over course
requirements, expectations, policies, fee's, etc. for the EMT program. The EMT program director will provide this
orientation to answer all questions by the students (and parents) selected for the upcoming semester.

EMT Program Orientation
(Mandatory) Students entering the EMT program are required to attend a one hour orientation that will go
over the expectations of the student to be successfull in the program. This orientation is held in the EMT classroom
the same day as registration. Students will be able to ask questions and orient themselves to the classroom where the
training will be provided.

on the left and review the required immunization for the course.
Background Checks
/ Drug Testing: A background check and a drug test will be completed on all students
upon entry into the EMT program and for clinical rotations as required by the hospitals. The Program Director will speak
to the students the first week of class regarding this procedure.
Students with felonies will not be allowed
to register for the EMT Program. Students with misdemeanors must speak to the Program Director PRIOR
to entering the program to see if they will be able to register for the course. This requirement comes from the clinical
sites as the hospital administration does not let students with felonies and some types of misdeameanors (theft, stealing,
or poor integrity / moral judgement, etc.) be placed in the emergency room to complete their clinical requirement of the EMT
Program.
If you have a misdemeanor on your record, you are advised to call the local EMS agency (ICEMA,
website: www.icema.net) to see if you may or may not be eligible for EMT certification. It is not Baldy View ROP's or the EMT Program
Director's responsibility to check on this for you. It is your responsibility to call ICEMA and see what your specific
circumstance may be regarding what is listed on your record. Pending what ICEMA says, it is up to you to continue with
the EMT program or not. You will need to speak to the program director about your situation and see if you may or not
be eligible to take the course. Our clinical / hospital affiliates have very strict guidelines on student placement
in the local emergency rooms. You may not be able to take this course because of ineligibility to be placed in a clinical
location. If you do not contact the program director regarding an issue and it is found on your background check, you
may be dropped from the EMT program.
