Baldy View ROP's EMT refresher course meets the U.S. DOT's curriculum and the National Registry's
re-certification requirements for an approved refresher course. The EMT refresher course is designed to review the important
topics from an EMT course (see below for topics). This course is not specific or isolated to the National
Registry examination. If you are taking the EMT refresher course as a requirement to re-take the National Registry examination,
additional studying is required away from this course.
The
EMT refresher course is 24-hours in length, earning you 24 hours of continuing education units (CEU's), over three
days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) from 9:00am to 5:00pm and does not exceed eight hours of training each day. Students
are required to attend all hours of the course to earn course completion. No exceptions!
This recertification
course is approved in all counties and with the NREMT for EMT re-certification.

Registration Procedure:

Step 1:
Students must fill out the online initial registration form listed at the bottom of this page and click on the "submit"
button and the registration form will automatically be sent to Chuck Fedak, the EMT Program Director. This form
does not confirm your registration. See Step 2 below, full payment must be received to confirm registration in
the course.
Step
2:
Print off the hard copy registration form listed below and come to the office or mail in your
course payment. Registration payment must be received to confirm your place in the course. Registration
fee's are no longer collected on the first day of the course.

Registration Requirements:
Students
must bring a copy or bring their current EMT card or their EMT card that has NOT expired for more than
2 years to the first day of class. Students who are not licensed EMT's but need to complete an EMT refresher course
for requirements to re-take the National Registry exam, must bring a copy of their original EMT course completion certificate.
Dress Code:
Students are to dress in casual attire.

Lapse In Certification Information:
Lapse of less than six (6) months:
Obtain at least twenty-four hours
of continuing education hours (CEH) from an approved continuing education provider or successfully complete a twenty-four
hour refresher course from an approved EMT-I training program and submit a completed skills competancy verification form.
Lapse of six months or more, but less than twelve months:
Obtain at least twenty-four hours of continuing education hours (CEH) from an approved continuing education provider
or successfully complete a twenty-four hour refresher course from an approved EMT-I training programand submit a completed
skills competancy verification form and complete an additional twelve (12) hours'
continuing education for a total of 36 hours of training.
Lapse
of twelve months or more, but less that 24 months:
Obtain at least twenty-four hours
of continuing education hours (CEH) from an approved continuing education provider or successfully complete a twenty-four
hour refresher course from an approved EMT-I training programand submit a completed skills competancy verification form and complete an additional twenty-four (24) hours' continuing education for a
total of 48 hours of training and pass the National Registry written and
skills certification exam.
Lapse of greater than twenty-four
months:
Complete an entire EMT-I course over again.
